IT'S TRUE! According to the official website, Jack got married to Karen Elson (who starred in the "Blue Orchid" video) on June 1 in the city of Manaus, Brazil. Congrats to the newlyweds!"

i know the lr is all ablaze too ~ LOL. i dunno, i am undecided if it is true. the message on the site just doesn't seem like something jack would do, yk? otoh, i can't see him poking fun @ renee either but that description was a bit too perfect imo. ~ sounds lovely & romantic though... lol ;)

Yeah, I am slightly undecided, too...on the one hand, I don't find it unbelievable that he got married, and then posted the bald details on the site...on the other hand, it would be kind of tasteless if it was just a backlash at Renee, or a joke...on the third hand, rock god or not, Jack IS human, and humans do stupid things when they have been hurt badly...so who knows...time will tell. And let me know if you get a confirmation from your phone source :D

Yeah, scripted is right...and personally, I have a hard time picturing him sitting in his Sunday best out in the middle of a river in a canoe...symbolic or not! :hahaha:

No, nothing wrong with that! I will breathe a huge sigh of relief if it turns out to be some huge mind trip by Jack, I will admit.

One thing I *am* worried about is how it will affect the dynamics between Jack and Meg...I mean, the scenes in Hotel Yorba with the rope tied between them were really strongly symbolic of the connection between them, divorced, married, whatever. How will the new woman in the circle affect it? If I was a new woman in the middle of that, I would imagine I might be a little jealous of my husband having such an intimate, emotional connection with another woman, esp his former wife, who was there before me. But then, I am a very jealous person when it comes to my guys, heh.

(Yes, people, we know we need a life...:D)

Lol! While I am not sure what is real or not, if it is real, I am totally positive that all these wierd and incomprehensible actions by the players involved all had SOMEthing to do with each other! I feel bad that they have to go through their emotional messes in front of us...that would SUCK!

All that aside, I will be happy if it is not true, and pragmatic if it is, since it really is none of my business, and it doesn't *actually* affect anything in my real life....my fantasy life is a whole 'nother matter, though :hahaha:

White also dismissed speculation that the new album is his "breakup record," with songs focused on the end of his highly publicized relationship with Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger.

"There's no truth to that at all," he said. "I would never make such a pedestrian record. How easy it would be to do that, but first of all, you'd have to be heartbroken in the first place over somebody, which I've never been, really. Any notion of all that (breakup) stuff is just nonsense."

Zellweger, incidentally, also had a recent surprise wedding - announcing last month that she'd taken the plunge with country music star Kenny Chesney.

Elson has modelled for Prada and Banana Republic and appears in the video for the band's lead single, Blue Orchid, directed by Canadian Floria Sigismondi.

White said he didn't set out to get involved with another celebrity.

"You know, you just don't get to pick. Whether it's a librarian or an astronaut, you just don't get to pick," he said. "I probably know 100 more people who just have regular day jobs, I only know a couple people who are famous really. You don't get to choose (who you fall in love with)."

The couple - White, 29, and Elson, 25 - were married in a canoe in the Amazon River in Brazil.

Meg White, the drummer for the White Stripes, served as maid of honour.

Jack White said he believes his days of being fodder for the tabloids are through.

"Anytime I've been in the tabloids it wasn't about me," he said.

"I despise celebrity, I think it's ridiculous . . . it's so disgusting to me," he said. "When you see things in your private life torn apart it just makes you really sad - not sad for Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson, they want it, they have no right to complain because they've asked for it completely.

Has anyone thought this could be a marriage of the metaphoric sense?? Judging from what I have followed on this board, Jack White's passion is a metaphor and he is ALWAYS talking in riddles. Maybe this is a marriage... a marriage of talent. She is a singer/ songwriter/ musician and he is starting a new band?? Supposedly Ian Monotone was the best man. Well he is also their manager. If this is a merger of talent . The he would be her manager too as well as managing Jacks new band???? Best man/ manager??? Both do the overseeing of things??? In the new message on the .com site Jack says" What arose from that get together will be with me forever in a new way and we are pleased". He didnt say I am pleased or I am happy he said "we" and he looked to be referring to Meg and himself??? and everybody knows he is not "new" to marrriage??? She may be on tour with them but... so are the Greenhornes. The Greenhornes are also a part of Jacks new band too????? Another thing, did anyone find that Candian press release/phone interview a bit odd?? Unfortunately, The White Stripes couldn't play in Peru--at least not on this tour. But guess what? Jack White had his manager contact Claudita on this board and arrange for free plane tickets, free tickets to tonight's show in Sao Paulo, Brazil, along with backstage passes for her and her brother to meet Jack and Meg backstage. Amazing! What a truly thoughtful, class act. Hope she has fun tonight. "

It makes total sense to me, knowing JW....it makes more sense to me than if he had just went out and got married after 5 weeks of knowing her. I still won't be surprised if it is a real marriage, but with that added dimension...I can see it still lasting, even if the couplehood part ended....I mean, see Meg...their marriage ended, but they are still going as a strong, connected, team.

As far as all the inconstistencies in the stories, I actually EXPECT them....since when does Jack just come out and do things the way the rest of us would, lol?
