I know I just lucked into it, but it's got to be worth something right? I don't need any more thread. I just got my Maxilock box from the first one. 12 cones, and tons of thread, also a few zippers. I think I'm going to stuff everything I can't use into flate rates and sell it here.

So, I know people that have had one before just gave their others away, but I could use the funds right now to help pay for Mikie's surgery. He's doing pretty well, btw. Still in quite a bit of pain, but the codeine's helping. ;) He's eating and drinking well and that's what I was mainly worried about since he has nothing he can afford to loose.

Whatcha think?

Or you can ebay it with an explanation and pics of what you get when you send it in to them,.....lol

My honest opinion is that it would not be appropriate to auction one off.

Maxilock is being very generous and accomodating to correct a situation with a defective product. They don't have to replace the cone with lots of other goodies, but they do and I think everyone who has gotten a box has been very impressed. But this is part of doing business and having happy customers. If this "prize" suddenly has a price tag or becomes too desired or abused, then they will most likely stop the practice. Remember that these goodies that they give away are not "free". They affect the profits of the company in even a small way, even if its just the shipping. Profits are what keeps companies employing people.

Well, while it seems you have a very good cause to make money for, I still wouldn't. I dunno, it just seems to have gotten to the point of taking advantage of a good company. I just don't think the person who buys, or is given, a bad spool deserves "compensation" from the company. I also don't want to see this company stop their wonderful customer service. There really aren't many companies who HAVE such wonderful customer service anymore, and I have to wonder if this is why.

I mean no ill will toward you no matter what you choose to do, or what anyone else has chosen to do. You asked, so I just thought I would state my opinion.

I know, I know. I won't sell it. Just had a lapse in judgement for a minute after seeing the hospital bills. ;)

So what should I do with it? I mean, I don't need anymore thread. Wouldn't giving it away be just as bad as selling it since someone else would be getting the "reward". Heck, maybe I should just unwind past the slashed part and use it anyway. :p

I see giving it away differently than selling it, but that may just be my own personal set of "rules", kwim?To me it would feel wrong to sell it, but good to give it away, and I tend to base moral decisions on how they feel to me <shrug>

Why not turn it into the company, get the goodie box and then you can purge whatever thread you don't need between that and what you already have, sell those threads and make some money that way?

I think you have to wait quite a while before you send in another slashed cone, so if you aren't going to trade or sell it, you might as well gift it to someone now and let some deserving mama in need get a sweet goodie box. (Not asking for myself btw, I already got one) :D
