I just subscribed and I get a free back issue as a new subscriber gift. Wondering which one I should choose...anyone have a favorite? What's it got in it?

Thanks!

I am in love with the linen pants and tops in 2/2005. I plan on making ALL of them! I'd have to look at my back issues to see what else i use a lot of.

I don't know that I could pick just one. I love the sundresses from 2/02, the t-shirt and capris and outdoor pants from 1/03, then there is the yoga style pants from 1/04 and I love the new summer issue too.

2/02 also - but not for boys! I really really wish it were in English though! I can't get past not being able to at least read the materials list! I'm actually making something for Alannah right now out of it.

Most of the boy stuff (in all the issues) is basic stuff besides the pants (they're more like rtw) - I think I like most of the pants they have. Though I think I have more stuff traced out of 4/04 for my boys than anything. Though the newest one is good too.

I also wanted to add that I would guess it's a really good time to be ordering Ottobre. I heard on NPR yesterday that the Euro is really weak against the dollar right now, so the price is probably pretty good. :)

2/02 here too! I love the dresses in it. I have it in German, and I translate everything with Babelfish http://babelfish.altavista.com/ . The translation is choppy to say the least, but I can get the gist of the instructions (that's if I decide that I really want to know how they suggest doing it).

Also if you go on the ottobre-english yahoo group, there's a table of translations in the database section. It's not as convenient as typing a whole sentence but at least the terms are sewing related.

I also like 1/04, 2/04 and 3/04 (ok, this is not so helpful LOL!), because there are a couple of outfits I really like in each of them.

I just ordered the 2/02 one, thanks mamas!

I did notice at Hancocks a TON of Ottobre - like flat folds-- not with the nay but on another table. Stretch wovens, all kinds of cool finds. These were also overruns from other high end clothing companies.
