My first attempt of stained glass project. I used a real stained glass pattern from the net and erased a few lines, because it’s harder to create little lines and pieces in fabric.
I started with a ¼ inch bias tape that I made myself for the first time with a bias tape maker (applause…) and stitches with a twin needle
BUT, discovered that my nerves couldn’t handle it LOL, so the last part are wide satin stitch, so much easier!
Next I will try to do the same with reverse appliqué.
I’m making Tomer a dragons quilt. The final version will be in the middle of the quilt.

That's FABULOUS!!!!! Would you mind posting where you got instructions? I've never heard of doing stained glass style designs with fabric but, WOW!!! I wanna try some!! My 7yo is INSANE over dragons (has been for 2 yrs) and I try my hardest to feed his obsession. :) Please S&S more dragon stuff as you make it! Can ya' tell it's my obsession, too. :)

That's fantastic! I love the way you try new things! WTG! Hadyn would LOVE a dragon like that. Or, better yet, a unicorn. LOL
It's just adorable (or is it fierce?).

It is actually not as hard as it looks, but need lots of attention and accuracy.
You cut the pieces and iron them to the background fabric with a double side fusible interfacing (like appliqué) and than use ¼ inch black bias tape, iron it with steam-a-seam and stitch with twin needle. When you use this method, you have to always look where it will be the best place to overlap the bias tape foe a neater look. As I said, not for me…
The other method is to do the line with black satin stitch.
