I normally pick up on things quickly but cant figure out the summer swap and swap from the heart thing yet...

Can someone brief me on them?

They look like lots of fun! I am sure you guys get asked this alot so if there is another thread that has more detailed info then the summer swap/swap from the heart threads, can you direct me there!?!?

Okay let's see...

Swap from the heart. My take on it (I've never participated, for whatever reason :( ) is that you post a list of your "wants". Then people scan the lists and if they have something on your list they send it to you. There's no "matching" or certain number of packages you have to send out, you're just sharing 'from your heart'.

The swaps ~ You sign up and send in items in multiples of 5, with 15 being the max. You can make whatever you want. There's a kid swap and an adult swap. You send a box with all of your stuff in it to the mama(s) who "sorts". In a few weeks, you get a box back chalk full of stuff (in the amount that you originally sent in) from other mamas.

I'm not explaining that one well... LOL

I understand! :D

Do they accept anything SEWN between those values? Is it our job to kinda search out what people are wanting to get in their "questionnaire"?

What if no one sends in anything your size?!? Value of 7-10 in material, time, retail?!?!

How often they do these?

It doesn't have to be sewn, just something handcrafted. You make whatever you want. Most things ARE NOT clothing IME, so size isn't really that big of an isuee... Value is relative and since I have a biz I usually have a hard time with the value in regard to the swaps because materials + time for ME really adds up to $10 really fast. I've done tote bags (twice), kids pants/shorts, fleece soft shoes, bath fizzies, kid's aprons, bowls made out of records...

We've been doing them seasonally.
