The little gift shop where I got my mother's day presents has some sewn items, but not a whole lot.

So.....I've been thinking....I wonder how you submitt items??

So today I finally bit the bullet and took Alex back with me. They are only open another 3 days until the Christmas season. The woman who owns it loves my purse....the one that Oceanna made. She mentioned that she saw one on the table in the window of a sewing shop next to Starbucks and I mentioned that I worked there and that I made my dress, Alex's dress, her coat, etc. Someone else was buying something and the owner mentioned how wonderful all of the European insprired reprinted fabrics were and we started discussing different lines. So I thought, if I don't ask now, I'm an idiot. So I asked how to get stuff in there. She said that she would need to see some samples or pictures of stuff that I have done. She said that she doesn't want competition between her artisians so she wants unique items from each one. She was very encouraging about it.......so I just sent off a bunch of pictures of stuff I have done.

Whew.....knots in my stomach are almost gone now!! I'm not good at doing stuff like that.

Big pat on your back to you!!! I hope she accepts some of your stuff. I've been thinking about peddling some of my wares around here but haven't worked up the courage (or set of samples) yet.....

Yeah Heather! I think that took courage to ask. I know I have to work myself up to do things like that. Hope it goes well because you do make beautiful things.

That's so cool! Good luck! But I find it funny that she asked for samples... Didn't you just show her samples? I mean, I know what she means, but funny nonetheless...

She adores your bag, you could have gotten red carpet treatment there, seriously.

Meagan.....When I look at it from your perspective, I can see your point. I liberally paraphrased the conversation. And to be honest, I don't think clothing items would be right for her shop. They have some gardeners aprons in there right now that don't seem to be moving. So it didn't seem odd at all since I wouldn't put clothing in there, with the possible exception of baby items.
