I am in agony here. :sob:

I was in ecstasy, briefly.:cloud9:

I'm in Germany on an Army base, FYI. So I get this phone call from a frazzled sounding, fast-talking German guy. I don't speak German and he doesn't speak English. I finally get him to hang on while I go knocking on my neighbors' doors looking for someone to translate. Got someone and she gets on the line and there is more confusion (she's talking German and apparently the person on the other end doesn't understand her) and she hands the phone back to me. The German guy had found someone on his end who speaks English and the English-speaker was on the phone. So I found out there was a delivery guy trying to get on-post to bring me my Mother's Day gift (ordered from a sewing machine shop in England), and the gate guards wouldn't let him in. So I wake up the baby and load all the kids into the car and we drive over to the gate.

My Janome CoverPro 1000CP has arrived!!! Oh the joy!!!:monkeydan

I am thrilled and once we get home, I open up the box. Looks fantastic! Then I start looking around for the plug adapter the seller promised to send me so I would be able to plug the English plug into my German socket. It's there alright, but it looks funny to me. I inspect it a little further and see that he has sent me the wrong thing. He sent me an adapter to plug a German machine into an English socket. Not helpful. :eyes:

So here I am, tortured by the presence of my heart's desire which I can't play with...only admire. :sob:

:vent: That is torture. I hope you get the fix very soon. I would have to put the machine away so I wasn't staring right at me.

Going shopping now to see if I can find one...

If not, I found one online I can order.

Wow that is torture! I can't image, especially after all that anticipation....wahhh. If you find an adapter make sure it's for the right voltage, I don't want you to hurt your new baby :)

I had a thought. How about just cutting the plug off and putting a german plug on? The voltage is within range.

Oh so horrid. I suppose you could memorize the manual in the meantime . . . still, arrgggggggh.

While waiting, could you cut out some t-shirts and binding strips, or whatever it is that seems most-fun-to-coverstitch for you?

Well, I couldn't find one locally. So I went ahead and ordered one online.

Thanks, Pam. I checked into it and England and Germany both have the same voltage (just different sockets) so I only need an adapter not a transformer. But I WILL need a transformer for it when we move home to the States in a couple of years. It was only $13 so I went ahead and ordered it today from the same place I ordered the plug adapter.

I had a thought. How about just cutting the plug off and putting a german plug on?

Scarlet, this is what the seller told me to do. But I'm uncomfortable with the idea of it. I'm not handy like that (neither is dh).

That sounds like a plan!
