I'm eyeballing a few different digital cameras...I'm just curious what camera everyone has and if you like it. I'm willing to spend about 300.00. The most important thing to me is speed. I need a camera that dosen't have a long lag time between pushing the button and the photo being taken (I have active kids :) ) This is the one I'm looking to buy..

I have a cybershot, different model though. I love my cybershot. I recently bought a Kodak one to replace the cybershot, HUGE HUGE HUGE mistake. I HATE my kodak one and as soon as I possibly can, I'm buying a new camera and selling the kodak one. The delay on it is ridiculous and it sucks the life out of the battery, I've gone through three sets of batteries in the two months I've had it.
I say go with a Cybershot. I love the one I have. It's been good to me.. LOL I only tried to replace it to get something bigger and better and wound up with a POS! The cybershot that I have is quick, it's very light, easy to pull out and snap quick pictures with, fits in my pocket easily. I love the various functions mine has too.
Whatever you decide, stay away from Kodaks.. especially the easyshare CX7530 ;)

i have a fuji 205 w/ annoying delay - wouldn't get another one.
canon elura digital video  but was $$
and another one i can't remember... but it's got the delay too.
if you find a good one, please share!! i am eventually planning to get something, the canon is awesome but i hate to carry it around because it's bigger and i'm afraid i'll lose it... *lol*
I own the cannon powershot A60 currently and just keep upgrading every other year (this is my 3rd powershot and I am due for an upgrade when we can get the money ALTHOUGH I am still very happy with this one but it's only a 2MP). I love them. The delay is a bit unless you hold the button down half way and see the yellow light. After that you wait for the shot and SNAP, it takes the picture when you press the button. Otherwise it takes too long and I miss my shot! Hate that!
Have you checked out eopinion just to see what they are saying about different cameras in your price range?
Good luck and have fun :)

I actually was planning on buying a Cannon Powershot, but read a few reviews about how it had a long lag time. Then Scarlet told me she returned a Cannon with a slow lag time and bought the Sony Powershot (that I linked to) and it had amlost no lag time. I read a few reviews about the Powershot. It seems to be suprisingly fast...

LOL! I wish I could show you what I mean.. I don't think it's something in the manual and maybe something I just stummbled on? LOL! I dunno! But the way i do it has zero lag time and the pictures are not blurry (I did the same type of thing on a different camera and got a blurry image).
Can you check out and play with cameras at Best Buy or Good guys? That's what i did years ago when I picked the pwoershot. Not trying to pressure you into a powershot (at all- cannon doesn't give me kickbacks lol) just saying this in general. I think that's the best thing to do to see what you like in your hands and how it feels to shoot with y/k? See if they have a good deal on what you pick and if not look around online? :)
oh and the one you linked looks like a good deal $ imo :)

With most digi cams, you can push the button halfway down and hold it there untill your ready to shoot, then there is no delay :) I'm a happy pic takin' mama having discoverd that

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Nikon Cool pix. We have gone through a few cameras and I will get another Nikon when this one dies...LOL (and it should soon, poor think just keeps on working with a cracked LCD screen from being launched off the stroller TWICE, and Cierra pushed in the zoom manuallyROTFL opps) whatever you get, I would make sure it has rechargable batteries, get a card reader and 2 memory cards if you can. Things I can't live without. have fun!!
i've been really happy with my canon a75 powershot as long as i use the halfway down option lol
i think i get really nice pics with it
Yeah I'm not crazy (errr.. okay I AM crazy but just not for this *snort*) about the holding it half way down so there is no delay! :monkeydan LOL!

I'm going to try the half way down thing. We have a Sony Mavica that we got in 2000 and it has a long delay.

Check out www.tigerdirect.com. A friend of ours was here using our computers and advice and bought a Hewlett Packard 6.0 megapixel with 1 GB SD memory card for just under $400. I know because he gave us the cash and we used our charge card because he doesn't have one.
They had cameras and memory for less. But we have ALWAYS had good luck with anything we have bought from there.

We've owned 2 cybershots and we've LOOOOOVEEED them both! My 1st one died the day before DS's 1st birthday. We went straight out and got another one.
I currently own the DSC-P92 and I adore this camera! I love that it takes video with sound. We don't use it for movies a lot, but it comes in handy now and then.
