AS yall know im totally new to sewing, and ive got a question...hope it doesnt sound too stupid lol...

Ive got a pattern that i want to cut out and all, I want to use the Med size for the baby, but....in the future the baby will need a bigger size...so???? if i cut it out at the size i need now, how do i make it bigger later on? Know what i mean????

You could trace it onto cheap interfacing (thats what I use), then cut out the copy.

Could use any type of paper you can see to trace through...

I think some companys make paper just for tracing patterns.

I trace my patterns onto either interfacing or tracing paper to preserve the original. The only time I cut a pattern is if I only paid $1 for it.

I use Patternease from Joanns, you can also get it at Walmart, to trace the pattern out. It's much easier to work w/the pattern on patternease than it is w/those tissue paper patterns that rip so easily and then your pattern is still intact for the bigger sizes.

I know some people use the really cheap interfacing at joanns to trace their patterns out, but personally I don't like how it's kinda stretchy going side to side but I'm kinda picky, lol.
