I am so proud of myself, with Maryssa I gave up breastfeeding before leaving the hospital(had no support, no lactation consultant at the hospital, the nurses were of no help, just wanted to give her a bottle). With Owen I did not even try, my expirence with Maryssa was horrible and I was scared it would be repeated.
Well I talked with my OB(different doctor then with my first two) about my desire to bf this time, she told me that the reason she no longer delivers at the hospital I had my first two is because of the lack of breastfeeding support. Anyway, my OB made sure that Piper was nursing within minutes of birth.
And here we are almost 1 month later and I have stuck with it. Even though it has been rough, Piper still does not open real wide most of the time and we are dealing with thrush right now but it has been so wonderful.

Congrats! That's amazing. I think you deserve a present! (Not kidding, you should really buy yourself a present for that, some wonderful little treat.)
I had a terrible time nursing my babies. I hated the smug way everyone was telling me what to do with my body when it hurt soooo much and was so exhausting and hard. But I made it in the end and the really good news .... after 6-9 weeks it gets incredibly easier. Like so much easier its kind of crazy. :) (Caleb just weaned a week before his second birthday and I *miss* it.) Have a wonderful nursey time with each other. And get rid of that thrush quick! I swear by gentian violet though its hard to get and stains terribly -- it worked so quickly for us though, and thrush can really sour a nursing relationship.

Now just a woprd about thrush, its a PITA . Had with both girls and with makenna specifically for over a MONTH> Genetian Violet for her and acidopholis & eating 2-3 containers of yogurt for me FINALLY nipped it. I still eat 2 containers a day of yogurt adn I just started acidophillus again to try to steer clear of thrush for Sully's sake;)
I know you didn't ask, but though I d let you know that it did work for us and it was inexpensive and natural remedy;)

WTG! It does get easier, I promise. I was plagued with a lot of probs with the first and persevered...
Isn't it nice to not deal with bottles or mixing formula,?(i never have, but I can't imagine doing it:)
