I don't know what it is called but it is similar to what I played with as a kid called silly putty. Last night Charlie got a big gloop of it stuck on a quilt that was on the couch which later he sat in and it go all over his new Hanna jeans which this morning the dog sat on so now it is all over the dog's butt.

What the heck do I do?

We have had hand therapy putty stuck in stuff on enough occasions that the therapits know I won't take it home any more. We ripped out pretty much a whole house full of off white berber carpet (almost new) because it had bright green putty stuck in in in conspicuous spots in different rooms. The carpet cleaner (who is awesome at getting out spots, never let us down before or since) got out the putty but the color stayed behind.

We recently had another spot of in in our bedroom, the rest of the house has wood floors now, but our bedroom was the remaining carpeted room. How it got there I do not know, but a whole can of resolve carpet cleaner did do the trick with LOTS of scrubbing. The spot was the size of a dime and it took the WHOLE can! I was desperate to get it out before the open house...

I hope the stuff you have isn't as scary as the hand therapy putty. :drop:

Thanks for posting this. We got pink silly putty on the carpet and a fleece blanket. I don't know what to do either. It has been sitting there for months, lol. Maybe ice to harden it up? Is there a silly puddy hotline?

I feel your pain.:rub: Silly putty is banned from my house because it's so sticky and never stays where it's supposed to. I have had good luck with Goo Gone removing it from clothes. Hope you can get it cleaned up. Poor dog!

Freeze the heck out of it. Willow took my therapy putty and smeared it all over her aristocrat cover one morning. I tossed it in the freezer and dropped the temp down low, thwacked it on the counter in a day or 2 ( I forgot I threw in the freezer) and the big chunks shattered. Dawn dishsoap took care of the rest, color and oily spot.

I would assume you could use the keyboard cleaner to freeze it too? We used to freeze liquid soap with it......

Can we put my dogs butt in the freezer? :lol:
