I can't believe he is nine! Hands up those of you who remember him when he was four and I was pg with Rolie or Rolie was a newborn?

I took him and his friend ice skating. Rolie had never been on the ice and his feet just slipped and spun all over the place while I held onto his overall straps.

Jay and friend (cutesy from his class who lives near us) had fun and then we went back to friend's house to try out his new skateboard ( check out his birthday pics here!! http://photobucket.com/albums/v68/bethan/Jay%209th%20birthday/ ) he did pretty well for never having done it before. He requested a not-from-a-box-because-homemade-tastes-better :heart: icecream cake. I made him a british recipe one (they taste different) with cherry chocolate icecream filling and "frosting"

Anyway, I am taking great galumphing boy and his father for their green card interviews tomorrow. Wish us luck -- we are nervous!

it looks like a fun birthday. and that picture of him with the cake is just perfect. makes me feel both sad that my nurseling will ever be that big and like i can't wait to see what he's like then (for one thing, i bet he will have hair very close to the color of Jay's).
