I was on a purse/handbag binge last week and made two that are entirely different from each other. I had a lot of fun with these :cloud9:
First one is cherries. I made two removable pins, one bow and one flower.

This is one so 'me'. Even dh said so  It's a big totebag, big enough to carry an extra change of clothes to the pool. I put an inset pocket in this one as well as three side-pockets. I decided it needed a matching keychain :)

Those are just awesome! I really like the retro one. But if it's so you, and you and your dh like it too, why don't you keep it instead of auctioning it? Or at least make yourself one like it.
They both look really well made. Good job.

Faith, those are gorgeous and so "crisp" looking (that's a compliment! lol) I love your eye for combining fabrics. I hope the auctions do well for you. It's obvious you have put a lot of effort and attention to detail on those. If I didn't have a million bags already, I'd snap up that second one in a flash.

Do you mind if I ask what pattern you used (if you used one)? I particularly like the ~swooped~ top of the cherry bag. :)

Do you mind if I ask what pattern you used (if you used one)? I particularly like the ~swooped~ top of the cherry bag. :)I don't mind :) I drafted both patterns from scratch on brown grocery bags
The cherry one was a bit tricky because I wanted the top rounded (to pull through the cherry design) but I wanted the sides straight when the bag was opened. I taped a few prototypes together and then went for it on the fabric :hippy:
