Maybe I am missing something, do I fold it to make it longer? It seemed that in order to get the arc at the bottom you could only fold it so far. Maybe I didn't mess around with it enough....

that is the one I used. :) But it just says fold... Not how to fold. I will mess with it a bit more. (folding I mean...) The circle skirt sew along doesn't open for me. Well, it opens, but is blank.

I was just wondering the same thing.. because fabrics are only 45 inches wide in most wovens, by the time I fold it in half that way.. I'm limited to about a 17 inch skirt once I cut the waist out and use up the seam allowance to hem. There are *some* 60 inch wide fabrics I suppose.. but not many. I was thinking of sewing two pieces of the 45 inch together.. it would create a seam, but that's no big deal. really. Right now the lenght is okay for me dd who wears a 2-3T, but once you get inot a 4T, that just doesn't seem long enough.

I think if you use 60" wide fabric you could do it. Your folding it in half and folding that in half again. Take a piece of paper and fold it in half and then fold the crease in half and cut that out and see if that helps with your visual before you cut in to fabric so essentially with 60" wide fabric you could use 30" of it for length (you'd need to make sure you had 2 yards x 60" in order to do it) hmm maybe I ought to make me a mama dress :D
