A dear friend of mine is expecting his first child in July. The little boy's room will be in very neurtal colors with a possible Asian Flare (or it could be frogs). Anywho, can you help me with some Asian inspired ideas for a BOY?

I have no Kanji embroideries, so unless someone wants to share a file or two, I can't do that. I thought about a little komono/pants outfit but I don't have a pattern, is there one anyone would like to suggest?

What other exotic things can you think of? I am going to do a diaper cover with his last name on the butt, and I will do a receiving blanket. I wish I had the Kanji file for Love, peace, hope, dream or something that will wrap baby in a touched life, but I don't. I could do a whole layette/basket with that on it.

I just don't know what to or what ELSE to do.

TIA

Thanks for the help!

I made this set for SOAA a long time ago. The blanket is a marcus bros. flannel with satin blanket binding around the edge. The onesies I hand embroidered with designs i bought from www.sublimestitching.com . It was really fun to make! :)

There are a few Kanji embroideries free at annthegran.com

The ncbe crossover shirt resembles a kimono imo.

HTH!

what about appliqueing the Kanji symbols?

the first thought... and this is kinda out there I suppose... is a crane Mobile. I'm thinking fabric folded and sewn orgami style into cranes and adorn with small beads or something and made into a mobile.
Cranes symbolize long life and peace.

One more thing - JoAnn's has a calico on their wall that is off white and has small black kanji symbols on it. Also some very small flowers but still more GN than girly imo.
