Caity wants "poofy" sleeves in a dress I'm going to make her, but I don't have a pattern for it. Does anyone have a formula or sew-along or anything?
TIA!

Hmmmm I'm sure the very simplistic way to get the poofy look is just to gather a section of the sleeve before attaching it to the body of the dress.

That's what I was thinking, but should I add in some width?

I'd add a few inches, yes. Or maybe take your sleeve piece, fold it in half, and cut it on the fold but at an angle, so the top of the piece is 1-2inches from the fold, and the bottom is touching the fold. If that makes any sense at all...!

Sarah - I usually have a hard time visualizing things, but you made that perfectly clear...THANK YOU!!!

slash and spread baybee. Slash your pattern in several places from the sleeve cap almost to the hem. Spread it out and tape tissue in the spaces. Once you have cut it out gather the top half of the sleeve so that it fits in the arm hole right. The trick is easing it to fit without puckers or pleats.
