This seriously has got to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. I just did a quick 3 needle hem and it looks so purty. And then did a quick binding job and it's amazing. No more popped necks and hems. It's so nice and stretchy :)

The downside to coverhemming is that now I need to have like a million cones of matching thread. Blah.

I'm just getting back into sewing after quite a few years and am pretty lost on some of the new things out there! Can you please tell me about a coverhem machine and how expensive they are? (I am assuming it is a hemming machine?!?)

oh yeah baby! I felt the same way when I got mine. It really revolutionized my sewing to look professional.

You don't reall need to have "a million cones of matching thread". I wind matching bobbins. I place each one in a cup, so they don't tangle, this leaves the bobbin free to spin and unwind. It works for me. :)

A coverhem machine makes the nice hemming that you see at the bottom of your t-shirts :) Rows of straight stitching on one side, and funky on the other. Nice and stretchy too, works better than just straight stitching a hem that needs to stretch. I really couldnt stand using a double needle!

I got the Janome CoverPro 1000CP. It was 599.99 :)

Get your butt down here!!!! LOL Yes, I will help you! Actually I will SHOW you how to do it. It was SO freaking easy. Everything was all set to go out of the box. Didn't even have to adjust tensions. :)

I didn't even think of using bobbins! I thought of just getting 4 spools of regular thread, but I like that idea better :)

I am so excited for you Crystal! Have fun with your new baby. Can I come down, too, with a pile of half cooked t-shirts?

My dad has tickets for that game and wanted us to go. I think it's going to rain, but if it doesn't, I'm going to look for Hannah, lol. It will be like trying to find a needle in a haystack...
