My name is Pam, a mother to 4 children 13yrs to 14months and live in Florida. I've been looking at all the S&S and have enjoyed all the creativity and the wonderful friendship among the members and hope to be a part of it someday.

This is my first attempt at a S&S and tried a little editing on the picture since the background was real bad. I've never really edited much and have always wondered how to do it, so don't laugh too hard. Anyhow, I had some french terry Lennon fabric in my stash and made this little outfit for Reid who is now 14months. I used two different Ottobre patterns and used my cover hemmer which is fairly new (I bought the Brother Pacesetter which I traded for my Bernina coverhemmer).

Very cute! I love that fabric and I agree, looks like it's right out a children's catalog.

So enlighten me, as one who hasn't done any photo editing beyond cropping and shrinking, what did you do? I mean, you must have edited out the background, how'd you do that? I'm totally clueless...

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and all the positive reinforcement, I really appreciate them all. It's great to be around others that love to sew too.

On the editing, this is the first time I've done this. I've never gone beyond cropping either, must have been a fluke to have discovered another button, whoohoo :) Anyhow, on my editing software which came with my computer, nothing fancy at all, there is another tool on the cropping option that is shaped like a drunk circle (can't figure another way to say it). Anyhow, I click on it and then it made little points all around the outfit and then hit crop. And whala... the background disappeared. I think you can add different backgrounds but I haven't figured out that far yet. Just doing baby steps right now. I'll bet someone knows a ton more than I do and might have a better way. I'll like to get Adobe, I hear that's a great program. Anyone know how much the software is?

awww that is darling!

Welcom!

Ok now - I am in the midst of potentially doing the same thing (coverhemmer is on ebay - the bernina one) and researching for a new one. What do you think about the differences? Please help!!!

The coverhemmer is great, I love it! I had the Bernina for several months and wanted to throw it out in the street :) I had a real hard time with it going over the heavy or high areas when I was doing top stitching, the thread was breaking and it's a pain to rethread...every two inches or so. Anyhow, I'm a big fan of Bernina but not their cover hemmer. I traded it for the new Brother and really love sewing with it. It has a great feature that allows two different widths and also triple stitching. I just bought the attachment for making binding, I haven't used it yet but hope to soon. I think it's a must have attachment if you buy the machine  Good luck with your sale, hopefully you can break even with your trade out.

I didn't either and love FT especially in hot Florida. The smooth side is the print side and the bumpy is inside, it's really nice stuff.

I didn't even see that it was FT in the original post!! I don't have any of that :drop:

You wouldn't happen to have any extra/spare that you'd like to get rid of, do you?? <begging>

Hmmmm...I might be talked into a trade for some of those Munki jersey prints :) I don't have any and would love to try the sock monkey print, do you have any of that? I'll have to look and see how much JL FT I have left, I made a bunch of cute dipes with it.
