This started out as a 99 cent skirt at the Goodwill. Perfect shape, and sweet fabrics. I took off the bottom ruffle and added it to the top with baby blue bias tape, made halter ties with leftovers from the bottom of the skirt, and then, here's my favorite part. ;) There are tiny little dragonfly buttons that blend in perfectly with the fabric, and I "hid" them all over the dress for the "wearer" to have fun discovering.

In the back, I used two big vintage white buttons and then added the little dragonfly buttons on top of them. (close-up below) I also hitched up (technical term ha ha) part of the back ruffle to sort of make a bustle which made the back a little more interesting. Daisy loved it, and I just couldn't part with it...so, after I took auction pictures we decided this was a keeper. She loves the way the ruffles all wiggle and twirl.

That is simply adorable! I know Hadyn sometimes really wants to keep the clothes I make for auction. Just yesterday while I was loading my current auctions, she said, "Mum, can *I* bid on the dress?" LOL I'm glad Daisy got to keep her dragonfly dress. It's def worth keeping! :thumbsup:
