Joshua came asking for information on nomenclature and sight reading stuff. I was looking up what the translation between the English and American notes names was (e.g. breeve=whole note, crochet=quarter note etc) and stumbled on this article which I thought was interesting.

Cute article. I like how she had names for all the notes. That's a good way for little ones to remember the notes.

I'm surprised the mnemonic devices were news. I remember learning tons of them when I took piano years and years ago.
I did a beginner recorder class last year -- we came up with some really goofy ones in a group situation with older kids.

I did the "every good boy deserves football" and F.A.C.E. and the cows one, but the others were new to me.
