Any suggestions?
There is too much for an outsider like me to wade through to even start to know what books would be good.

Oh my....
My first thought was any Beth Moore study,,Breaking Free was the one I got the most out of,,but I facilitated it twice..so I was able to get pretty deep personally. But hers are spectacular in part due to the videos that go along with the study, and if you don't have a group to participate with, that may be hard. I know that there is a running study online (just do a Beth Moore google search and you will find it) and I don't know if they have streaming video along with it,,but you would get the discussion aspect that is so helpful.
Another one I facilitated and loved is "Bad Girls of the Bible" by Liz Curtis Higgs...enough fiction to make it fun to read,,enough scripture to make it meaty..a great combination and not at all intimidating,,in fact....
I think I am supposed to send this to you..I just have this gut feeling. PM me and I will get your address....:) I have a copy for you if you don't mind some notes I wrote in it,,or some scribbles my son added with my highlighter...LOL!
Becoming a Woman of Purpose, Becoming a Woman of Excellence, and any of the others in that series are great places to start as well,,,,
but I think you are supposed to read Bad Girls first,,,really. :)
Joyful Journeys, I Pm'ed you.

I remember Beth Moore studies suggested to me. I will Google and see what the online groups are like here this morning after I get everyone off to school.
Becoming a WOman of Purpose.......isn't that by someone with the name of Jean Healey or something like that? I think I read those years ago.......

What about Matthew Fox? He is very liberal, so much so that I am not sure that all Christians would even consider him Christian, though that is how he sees himself and so do many others.

I have to give another thumbs up for beth moore! I am doing breaking free right now and we also just finished up the fruits of the spirit. I really liked that one. Her videos are great, and she's just so adorable and real that you just have to  her

Oh I second the "Bad Girls of the Bible" suggestion! I think it's a great book for both Christians and non-Christians because even if you think of biblical women as fictional you can still learn a lot from their stories. Two thumbs up for that book. :D
