I just tried saving my favorite jeans that I busted out both knees in...I'm 5'4 and I made them as long as I could given the holes, they're about 1" below the bottom of my knee cap. They don't really look like capris though, more like long shorts but too long given my height, yk? Is there a formula for how long to make capris, x-inches below the knee? I think I need another 1-3" but I don't know how to add now that I've hacked them up, LOL. They're hemmed and everything. I'm not into frou frou, some funky trim probably isn't going to get worn around here. These are fine for wearing to clean house or something but I'd like to take a couple pairs of long forgotten about jeans and make them "right."

I'm not saying much today, trying to read, but my contacts are all messed up from cleaning house yesterday, I got dust in my eyes. I'm wearing sunglasses and just trying to get through the day...someone remind me to quit stalling and go to the eye doc already :D Please forgive me for not posting a lot of replies, I'm loving the SNS's!!

The doc's gonna yell at me, I haven't been for a long time :( And I'll have to have dh drive me and pick me up because I'm totally incapacitated when they dilate my eyes, literally all day I can't see. I do have some glasses but I think the prescription is almost 10 yrs old, I got them right after dh and I met, LOL.

I'm no help. I just read What Not to Wear and those of us with short legs are not to wear capris or cropped pants of any sort. :wah: :looks around: I will continue to do so but I can't convince myself to add more to my wardrobe.

Any chance of turning it into a skirt? Or do you do shorts for around the house or yard?

Ummm, I don't wear skirts (ducking head) Just jeans or shorts for me. Last time I wore a skirt I had to go buy one the day we attended a wedding.

I don't feel particularly short but I think I'm long in the torso, my legs are the short part. I usually do wear shorts in the summer but they're all jean shorts or cutoffs, grungy mom needs something nicer to wear occasionally. My legs are snow white and will be for a few more months, lol. Those people on What Not to Wear would have a field day with me!

Well bummer. Maybe I should pull out those hippie skirts and see if I can stand wearing them on a daily basis (I bought several a few yrs ago but couldn't get comfortable in them). Get this, I volunteered to man a table on Earth Day for freecycle. Why? So I could dress up like a hippie and not be the only freak there :hippy: Sick, sick I tell ya. Halloween in April. No offense to the skirt wearing hippie mamas here, I promise. I live in the boonies and it is the odd person in hippie garb here, I wanted an excuse to wear them for a day too :D

All my capris fall about 3-4 inches below my knee, I believe. It took me a while to be comfy in them though. Im not terribly tall (5'7") but I do have long legs.

Ah! Just go buy some leather fringe trim and add that LOL
