What do you use, if anything? Did you make it yourself, buy it, etc?
I think having one would be very helpful for us. I hate nagging and constantly tell my dd to get dressed, get ready for school, do this, do that, etc. We have a list of things that need to be done every day acts, chores, and such, but I still feel like I am nagging a lot!
I found this http://familytools.com/pegs.htm on the familytools.com and really like the idea, but is rather pricey.
Or how do you get your kids to just do what is needed to do?

We did use a responsibility chart for a year or so. I stopped because ds #1 had so much schoolwork that he really couldn't keep up (sad because he was in 2nd grade at the time). It was divided across the top by days of the week and down the side by morning, afternoon, and evening. It was further divided by each child so each boy had morning, afternoon, and evening (so m, a, and e were written twice or three times - eventually I ended up with 3 boys who could do jobs). I further colorcoded it so that it was apparent what chore needed to be done when. I alternated chores between the bigger boys so they had the same jobs on different days and on opposite days they had 'easy' jobs (like the favorite: empty the wastebaskets (they like to pretend that they are garbage trucks)). At the bottom of the page I had a list of 'extras' which had everything from polish the wooden walls in the basement to clean the shed to organize your desk, etc, polish kitchen cabinets - kind of thing). On Sundays they got to pick an extra. During the week they each had a 'free' afternoon. Morning jobs were things like : make your bed, make sure your pajamas are away. Afternoon jobs: vacuum living and dining rooms, sweep hallway and stairs, etc. Evening jobs: put clothes in laundry, make sure room is clean, set/clear table...
Now, you've got me thinking, we've got to reinstitute our chart...

We just made custom chore charts this week at this site:

I put the charts in a clear folder and taped it to the kid's bedroom doors. Each day they use a wipe-on/wipe-off marker and put an X next to the things they have done. It's been going over so great here. My kids seem to enjoy their new responsibilities. They are taking personal pride in their accomplishments.

Yep, we have a chore chart. I made one, with days of the week across the top, and enough spaces down the side so I can get two weeks worth of chores listed. I keep it simple, get dressed, rinse silverware, mash cans... He gets a star in each box when it's done, and if he doesn't have to do it one day, I stamp a heart in the box. Mil bought a chart, I need to get it up, it was just as flexible as ours, but cooler, iykwim.
It worked really well, every day all I had to say was, "did you do all your chores?"
