My daughter has slightly sensitive skin but we have been using just regular old products for her since birth mostly. Well I gave her a bath a few minutes ago and she likes bubbles so I put in some shampoo so she could suds it up. She ended up with the oddest red splotches/streaks - like in the shape of where the bubbles touched her.
I have been very lazy about travelling to the HF store since she was born but went this weekend and was overwhelmed with the selection. But, I was also reminded of some of the great products I used to buy when I worked and had the money.
So bascically I am looking for ideas on what you use for soaps (liquid so it can bubble for her) and lotions at this point. I used to use Nature's Gate products and will buy those again. I prefer not to use Burt's Bees products.
Also any input on newborn creams (diaper) and products would be wonderful as well since I plan to stock up this week.
Thanks so much!

Contact Danica of The Soap Deck and she can tell you where to get bubble bath. Chances are she has a sensitivity to SLS. I do and many soaps, shampoos, etc. give me a rash. Streaky, like you said. We use Ca Baby for shampoo and body wash.

Diaper rash ointment we have two- Bebe Balm from Kristerae (organicmama) and Diaper Rash Ointment from Kindheared Women. THey both work beautifully! We've had some great stuff from Danica, too, but it's now long gone.

For lotion (body butter) we use only wahm stuff for 3 yo dd, 5 mo old ds, dh and I. My 9 year old prefers commercial stuff (ugh!) though she'll use Danica's lotion, too. We use some things from Amy of Whimisical Earth (nurse mama here) and some from Angie of Lovelight Aromatics. For the kids I prefer the Whimsical Earth naked shea butter and her fair trade shea butter. For DS I also have some wonderful Calendula oil from Kristerae.

We love California Baby. They have several bubble baths, and the kids love the bubbles. I love it because they splash around in the tub, and then they are clean. Our favorite one is "Calming." It's wonderful stuff!!!!!

We use CA baby, too. We use the unscented hair and body wash for super sensitive skin and I put a few drops of lavender oil in it to give it a light scent. I use Burts Bee's baby cream sometimes, but usually just use olive or grapeseed oil with lavender oil for an after bath/bedtime massage.

Thanks for the info. I am going to get a few things at the HF store this week and then when I have money in PP switch over to WAHM's since they will actually listen to waht I want/need.

is Egyptian Magic. We get it at a subsidiary of Whole Foods Market. It has "Olive Oil, Bees Wax, Honey Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, Bee Propolis & Love" in it. It can be used for everything.

We were skeptical and on a tight budget but my DH has really severe psoriasis and DD (3 1/2) had a really bad rash on her leg from food allergies. It works for both of them. DH can't use much of anything but we honestly can't live without this stuff. It's expensive and we are on a tight budget but when we have over $300.00 worth of unused creams and lotions in our home, this is nothing.

Plus, we can use it as a hair oil for our girls.

They have a website but I haven't checked it out. It's www.egyptianmagic.com. Actually, I just did. It's $25.99 in the store & $30.00 online.

We use Ca Baby for shampoo and body wash.

Me, too. I use the unscented since she's sensitive. Their bubble bath does bubble but you need to help it along with your hands.

Funnily enough my DDs and their cousins are all allergic to CA Baby Bubblebath for Sensitive Skin. I have had good luck with Waleda, all products. I have also liked Natures Gate shampoo and conditioner. I have used ALba Botanicals for lotion. I am very interested in WAHM products for babies. I would love recomendations.
