She is 8 and is very much into wearing makeup lately. I don't wear makeup. Is there anything that is more natural than the stuff we see in the grocery store? Does anyone have any fs that they can get to me before easter?
Thanks,
Angel

Natural as in the colors or natural as in the ingredients? I have a Burt's Bees make up kit but I'm not sure how natural the colors are....

Natural as in the ingredients. I'll check out the Burts Bees stuff.
Thanks!

Whew! 8 is so YOUNG! I would think 12...but not 8...JMHO. Lipgloss...maaaaybe at 8 (those yummy fruity flavors are fun)...but foundation, blush, eyes, etc...oh no!

Of course she doesn't *need* makeup! She wants it, though. I don't wear it, but i don't mind letting her explore in the house.

LOL...I admit, I was going "Wow, and they grow up so fast already!! Why allow a rush on it???".....
But at home, dress up, play, is different. My 7 yo does that too. I prefer the glittery play stuff though, we use Bath and Body Works stuff....roll on fruit scented glitter gels, lipglosses, etc.
Sarah is almost 8 and only allowed to wear clear lipgloss out. :)

Great thread!!
My dd is 12 and she just started wearing clear mascara. (Jane brand is cheap, and excellent....but am not sure of their animal testing status)
She also wears lip gloss in light colors only. I like the stuff Mary Kay has becuase they have a couple light colors and it is high quality. There is also a brand at Target by Sonja K (not sure of the spelling of the last name) which is also really high quality.
Next year when she goes to junior high, (7th grade) I am going to let her add a blush in a very very light color. When she hits high school, she can add colored mascara, tasteful lipstick, and foundation.
I'm still pondering the eyeshadow. If it is a very very light color, I may let her add that next year. When I say light color, I mean really really light and no blue, green, purple etc....
For skin care, we go with St. Ives....they have a awesome new cleanser (apricot face wash....I even use it!!) and they don't test on animals.
Our facial sunscreen comes from Kiss My Face.
Burts Bees has too many irritating EO's in it for my dd to use....otherwise we'd probably use their stuff.

I have to admit to my he!! no status as well! I guess exploring in the house is OK, but if she starts doing that now, won't she get used to it and be begging to do it outside of the home soon? JMHO. I would go for some of the glittery play stuff from BBW or Libby Lu. I don't wear make-up 95% of the time, so I could be biased, but 8 is so very, very young to look like a woman.

I assumed as much. Only, Emilia doesn't even go to school.
