I just placed my order with Sonlight. I got Core 3, Science 3, some of the recommended resources, some extra science sheets, I think I got the workbooks, Lyrical Life Science, Singapore Math for ALL 4!

I also went on over to Institute for Exellence in Writing and got Phonic Zoo.

And I still have $155 left... not sure what I want to get yet, but I want to order soon so I can have it for our move, so it will be something for the kids to look forward to when we get to our new house.

I finished my spending. I got Meet the Masters @ Home art program and also English for the Thoughtful Child 2. I also ordered a book about composers, a Jim Weiss CD about Galileo, a math game (Equate), and some bookmarks to make my total exactly $150 so I could get free shipping. I ordered from Rainbow Resources, and had it sent to my mom in OH.

I also picked up a radio/CD/cassette player this evening with my monthly education money - and headphones. That will be specifically for our 'listening' area so that the kids can listen to books on tape or CD - and also for Austin to listen to his spelling CD's. :)

Now I am anxious for it all to get here! lol

Ah, the fun part! Waiting for that giant Sonlight box. I love to track it.

I need to get a life.

It sounds like you made some great selections!

I finished my spending. I got Meet the Masters @ Home art program

Heather - This sounded interesting, so I looked it up. I want to order it, but I don't know about the levels. Which level did you get? I saw on their site that I can get all 3 levels for about $159. I don't know enough about the program to know if that's worth it, or I should just get one level and adjust. I have Brianna, who is currently in 7th, Reid in 3rd, Jacob is K age, but doing much more advanced work, and Lauryn is 4.

what do you think? I really like the way this program looks.

I got the K-2 level. Austin is my oldest and he's 8 and not very artistic, so I figured this would be the place for us to start. I'm having it shippd to my mom in OH, so it will be there when we get there - if everything comes in a reasonable amount of time form Rainbow, that is. But I thought it looked interesting, and it would be neat to really try to duplicate an artist's work. We did a little of that kind of thing with K12 and the kids enjoyed trying to make their art look similar to Van Gough's. ;)

I'll let you know what I think of it after I get it. I imagine we will do some of it this summer.

And I caved and ordered the Sonlight PreK set this morning. I forgot to get Ready Set Go for the Code, though. I guess I'll have to pick those up this summer at the homeschool conference.

Very fun! Getting the SL box was so exciting--and getting the catalog too. You might even get a new catalog. I keep rereading it, getting all excited about Erik getting older, LOL!

Oh how fun!! I love getting a complete core in the mail. It was so overwhelming and exciting, the sheer volume of books that came!

A complete core is a lot of books, 2 cores is a ton of books. It may help you tremendously to have a system to mark them. When they send you the cores, they will send you a few sheets of colored sticky paper. I always cut the paper into small rectangles and put it on the spine of each book so at a quick glance I can spot a Sonlight book from other books. Core 3 is yellow, I'm not sure what pre-k is. On the inside of each book I write 'Gonzales Family', then I mark the according to what they are, readers I mark with a capital R, read alouds get a RA and history has an H. So the inside cover of my books will have

SL-3-R for Sonlight core 3 reader
SL-3-RA for core 3 read aloud etc....

I have 4 cores, to keep track of and it really helps me to have them marked.
