I know, I know... It's just hair... It's his decision.

But, I am going to be really sad if he goes through with it.

He's not happy with the way they look on top, the loose hairs that are there before they lock with the nearest dread. He's getting tired of the sideways glances and way some people treat him because he's got dreads.

But, dangit, those beautiful dreadlocks are part of what initially attracted me to him. Some people think they're gross, freaky, but I think they're sexy.

For now, I'm keeping the scissors stashed with my beading suplies. But if he does decide to go ahead and chop them off, I'm going to need my Cruchy sisters for a sholder to cry on. :wah:

Awwww...Matt never had dreads, but he used to have long hair and a beard. No more. He's clean-shaven most of the time with a really short - almost military! - haircut. He looks gorgeous but I miss the long, shaggy boy I met twelve years ago...once in a while. ;)

My dh had long beautiful dreads when we first met, he cut them off after a bit and I think I missed them more than him. I still miss them, but he's still my man ya know :)

Yup, you need to post a picture, so we can truly moarn with you ;) LOL!

You could always save them and sew them into a wig. Then, he can put it on every now and then, lol!

Aw Meeshi, even though it's something you are very attached too it might be time to let those dreads go. ;) I just cut off 6 inches of hair two weeks ago and couldn't feel better. J says he's tired of getting weird looks, I understand him. Remember he'll still be the same guy with that high libido! LOL!

Also you have changed after giving birth and I'm sure he loves you even more than before, who knows you might actually love the new do'

I completely understand what you're feeling, my dh cut his dreads about 2yrs ago and now he's incouraging me to cut mine (which are now down to mid- back) but I really don't want to! it's taken me 5 yrs to get what I've got and I'm a lil attached! If it's all fuzzy at the top of the dread maybe he just need to do a lil maintanance, I'm not suggesting wax, but I've used coconut oil and it relaxed some of the frizz and helped it to suck into the dread a lil faster. Hope this helps, and hang in there mama!

Thank goodness, all of his crazy talkin' seems to have stopped. ;)

I made sure he knows just how sexy I think his dreads are. Most of them are now down to his belt, though he has some shorter ones too.

I think I may have a larger pic of what's in my avatar, but keep in mind it was taken 5 years ago.

......for a guy with dreads, but guess what!?! I married the most clean-cut engineer, kinda geeky, little guy ever! Totally NOT "my type", but I love him. We're a funny pair! :)

He manages to find a way to squirm out of most pictures, and a lot of the ones I do have, his dreads are behind him... I just got some new pics developed at Snapfish, so I will see if I managed to get him in any of them! ;)

LOL I was just thinking earlier today while reading another of your posts that I wanted to see a closer pic of J, that's funny that I came across this thread. I don't know how I feel about dreads since I have never seen anyone up close and personal with dreads (yup I'm a sheltered lady) lol

Ok, I'll see what I can do, ladies! We're going to be working on our garden today, so I'll have to see if I can get an extention cord hooked up to the digital camera and do a sneak attack.... ;)
