These people have planted their yard with edibles. There is no grass. They also keep chickens and ducks. They live in Pasedena California on only 1/5 acre lot. They sell much of what they grow and eat a lot of it too. It's a really great website!

I am good friends with the family that owns pathtofreedom.com and they really are amazing. It is in a densely populated area of the city, but when you sit in their backyard you feel like you are out in the country. They are amazing people to know.

I figure it's less to mow and we get home grown food for cheap plus it keeps me and the children busy!

We can't have chickens but I wish we could. It's against the city code.

I live on 1/2 acre in FL. Most of our yard is planted with native trees/shrubs so we don't have to water a lot (or at all).

Thanks for posting this! We will have to take a little trip out there sometime soon! :) I LOVE when people use so much of their land for food (seeing edibles growing in other's front yards excites me! LOL)& when we move into our new home next week we plan to get started doing them same right away! :)
