For anoyone interested in free admission to a really fun music festival (July 8,9,10) in Sherman NY, the volunteer crew are already looking for recruits.

By volunteering 9 hours out of the weekend, you would get free admission. We always volunteer in the Kid's Tent (J drives the shuttle tractor) A shady spot where you can still hear the music. They have a lot of crafts and activities set up, and it is a ton of fun.

The festval also has over 100 performer, one main stage, a dance tent, a supervised pond for swimming, marked hiking and biking trails, food and "hippie wares" vendors, drum circles, yoga and dance instruction....

The festival has a "quiet" camping area, where we set up, where it doesn't get so crazy at night. But, I've found that after the fun filled days, the girls always end up falling asleep pretty quick anyway.

Check out www.greatblueheron.com for more info! Maybe even some pics of us from last year! :)

That sounds soooo fun! The volunteer thing is great. My friends and I used to do this at the Marley Fest when I was a teen. It made for great camping (and you would never imagine the stuff you find on the ground after all the crowds have gone! LOL!).

Oh, yes, Jo! I have found many a *kind* groundscore in my day!

Hey, I was thinking that this is right close to Panama, NY. Any chance you could talk DH into a road trip seeing as it is close to his hometown?? :)

Meeshi ~
I was just looking at the website for the festival. It looks so fun! I saw that much of the music is bluegrass. That is close to my heart, because many of my best memories as a kid are of going to bluegrass festivals with my parents, dancing around with my siblings on our blankets! :hbeat: :cuc: :hbeat: My parents still go to folk festivals and concerts. I actually had the honor of getting to go see Alison Kraus and Union Station for my dad's birthday last weekend! :monkeydan

Hey Jo,
don't think your going without me!! That sounds like so much fun. We should make plans to work the Kerville Folk Festival. I'm sure you know about that...it's coming up too. :monkeydan
