what have any of you done? we sleep most in my la-z-boy since she needs to be somewhat upright. when we sleep/nurse lying down in bed, she seems much more noisy, like she is more uncomfortable.
what has worked for you?

We got my son a pillow... ok so I know pillows are usually worrisom for newborns.
We got him a feather pillow because feathers are harder to suffocate in because they have air pockets. We continued to co-sleep so we were able to listen to him all night.
Wish I had a better answer

we raised the head of the bed up 30 degrees or so by putting my nursing school books under the head of the mattress...but dd did not really have problems at night-so we have taken it down-also she would slide down.
i had wished i had a lazboy-lol! during the day she sleeps in the hug a bub, ergo or sling/pouch
have you made any dietary changes? have you cut out dairy to see if that helps? there is also the Sears elimination diet...
there are lots of moms here dealing with reflux-we can get another thread going if you want for more help:)
dietary changes were the most helpful for me.

wow linda, thanks for the info. i've wondered if changes in my diet would help, but our ped. said it wouldnt. i'm up for any help. i had to stay off of dairy when nursing ds because it gave him gas, so i could do it again......
i'm going to look for that yahoo group! thanks!

you are welcome-so sorry you are dealing with this...here is a good thread on reflux

you could just cut out all dairy and see what happens...but you need to cut it out for 4 weeks to really judge before you add it back(it takes 2 wks to clear your bady and 2 to clear baby)
dairy and soy are so similar that if babe isn't tolerating dairy i'd just quit that too. wheat is the next common culprit...you need to keep that out 1-2 weeks before you try to add it in...chocolate can be a prob too...and bananas have a similar chemical to chocolate...so if you eat a lot of both...then it can add up. but each babe is so different.

Stopping dairy and caffeine eliminated Naiya's refluxing. With Indigo I spend most nights sleeping in the recliner.

right now our nights are better. she & i are actually sleeping in the bed & i burp her well before we lie down and again when she nurses. i am giving her zantac & reglan. it isnt really the spitting up that bothers me, it is that she gags/stops breathing momentarily sometimes when i burp her or if i don't burp her well. i would like to get her off the meds, but they, in combination with keeping her burped & upright seems to be working. so i'm going to start dairy free tomorrow and see if that helps too. i've already been off caffeine with minor exceptions:eek:
