I really like Turbinado Sugar( aka Raw Sugar), but i can not understand how it costs SO much more then white sugar. Expecially since they Process white sugar more then they have to the Raw sugar.

I think that Turbinado is a Great Sugar better then White, since basically the white was stripped of all its nutritional Value , sort of like the difference between whole wheat and white flour. I also noticed that whole wheat flour is more expensive then white flour.

WHAT GIVES ??

I feel that way about a lot of stuff...why convenience costs more than whole foods, etc. But I think it comes down to quality vs. quantity. They can use lower quality sugar cane for white sugar as there is nothing left to affect the taste etc. JMO though:)

Scratches my head *

I guess that makes since .. but wouldnt that be equaled out by less processing .. so it should cost the same amount ?

Maybe i am just being cranky.. but Geeze 3-4 or MORE times the amount of Sugar ?? Even Brown sugar isn't that much.. and it takes even MORE processing to process out white sugar and then the Molasses and then put them back together.

WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD!!
