I have a heart condition and it might be to risky for me to get pregnant. I talk to OBGYN and she was giving me diffrent options and she said I might not be able to adopt because of my health problems. Can you tell me if your health was an issue when adopting?

I go to San Fransico every coulpe of months for test. Basically I have a valve thats dose not work so well which is going to be replaced and V tach, which is when my heart beats to fast. My right side of my heart is weaker than the other and I have trouble with the blood flow through my body. Right now you are probably thinking and this person wants a child..... If you seen me you would not even know that I had a problem. I can do things for daily living but I tend to get tired a little easier than the normal person.

We're adopting through the state, and they require a general physical, and a dr. needs to sign off that you are physically capable of caring for a child. It sounds like you are :) I would call your local adoption worker for your county and ask.
Good luck,
Kristi
I think their only real concerns are that you will be able to care for the child (and with your condition being so serious, they might want to know that you have a back-up plan if you are not able to provide all of the child's care) and that you don't have any serious communicable disease.

I had another appt. and The surgeons don't think it would be a good idea for me to get a vavle repacement. They think it might do more harm then good. The next procdure I would have done would be a heart transplant. So becoming pregant is out of the question. Now my husband and I are almost fighting over adopting or having a ceragant mother. I want to adopt to give a child would other wise would not have a home a home and my husband wants a ceragant. His whole thing is that he is not sure he would be able to love a child that was not his by blood. After some talking I found out it all has to do with his stepdad. And how he was not really involved like he should have been. I talked to jim's mom and she said that his stepdad was not even aware of what he was doing untill jim got into high school. And his dad tryed to go to ever game and all that stuff to make it up. But it seems like jim really thinks that his dad didn't love him because him was not his son by blood. And it is so hard jim says adopting is a last resort. But I need to find out more information about both. Does anyone have any about adopting or ceragants.

Good luck! Either way, you can breastfeed! I've done it with all mine.
