Yeah, it is good material stuff but good stuff none the less.
Little things like the kids needed waterproof pants and I found a pair for each of them for 95 cents each at the first place I looked.
We needed a mattress for ds's loft bed we were to build (his old one went to his sisters bed that is done) and the next day my sister's MIL wanted to part with one that has been in storage.
We've drug our feet on making ds's loft bed for the last 3 weeks and yesterday we scored one for FREE in the color we had intended to paint it. Yipee! No wood to buy, no painting to do.
As for the non material stuff...
I've been working hard at getting my training done for my new job (long story but not positive) and even with all my efforts I will not be done in the time I thought I would be so I could start working. *but* it does mean that I get to go on a ft with some friends that I would have missed out on and I get to go out to dinner with dh on the companies dime. (Basicly an office party at a Sushi place)
I've finally been motivated to work out. It was like everything converged at once and I didn't even get it until after I was back in the gym. The neat thing is that it has motivated my sisters also! The 3 oldest will all be swimming together starting next week. And 2 of us will then be playing with some other buddies on a Woman's Master's Water Polo Team. How fun! For a bunch of 30 something women to get together and play a sport that most of us haven't played since HS and some of them never played but had siblings that did.
Everyone at the gym welcomed me back with open arms and big smiles. No comments about lagging when I wasn't there for over 6 months. Just we missed you and big smiles of recognition and questions about the kids. (I'm working out at 5am and needless to say the kids don't join me at that time.)
We are having weekly family dinners and they just make us all feel so grounded. So good. 4 generations around a table just feels good.
Life really feels good. Life is good! Talk about warm fuzzies.
