I am looking for childcare so I can go back to work. I would like to get an idea from the "otherside" of things about childcare business. What do your parents (customers) look for or ask you when using you as a service?

i have a wahmbiz but i also do homedaycare. right now i watch two little ones. Ages 3 and 6mos (i have two kids 4.5 and 18mos of my own and a teen in highschool)

i think the issue for "my parents" is that they want to know their kids are safe, happy and busy. Not being stuck in front of a tv or allowed to run wild all day. They know that i do crafts and baking with the older kids, we do singing and music and puppets and puzzles. Theres always something going on. I take them to the zoo, the park, the library and to playgroups.
plus they like that i provide (fairly lol) healthy meals and snacks and use gentle/positive discipline and offer lots of love :)

I don't have a childcare business, per se, but I am a nanny. I just watch their kids at their houses while they're at work. I take my kid with me. Mostly, they just ask how much I charge and what days work for me, but that's becuase I get a lot of word of mouth, so they already know I have references and stuff.
If not, its still usually pretty informal. We'll just get into a conversation and go from there. Most of the people I've come across have just immediately liked me and known that my parenting style is in line with theirs. I think I've been pretty lucky to find some other AP parents out there, so when they see that I BF, co-sleep, CD, etc, they like automatically trust me.
So I guess I"m not much help, cause I don't get asked a bunch of ?s.
