I am getting frustrated. I don't want to go and get a job working at some Dumb gas station or something that will pay dirt for wages and totally hate it. I want to stay at home and be able to make money.

I am already working as a self contractor for another WAHM (http://www.adminservicesforu.com/index.htm) who just in the last 4 or so months started her business. I mostly do webpage design, graphics, and databasing and that type of thing. Business has been picking up a little, but it is not enough to survive on. I hope that that business does pick up more though.

I would also like to start something for me to do. I had thought of Ebay, but with no back account ( i have one in MD, but trying to get my mother to send my information is like trying to pull teeth ) and no credit card i can't sell anything.

I had throught of several little things i could do, but nothing HUGE that i thought would really do great KWIM??

I do however have a mealworm farm thats all ready full of mealies, but setting up a sign at the end of the drive and having weird people stop by that i don't know is NOT appealing ( even though i know Sampson would protect me ).

I had thought of breeding rabbits, but then i think of the over population already and what not.

I had thought of breeding mice for pet stores, but that REALLY is a tight market and squeaking ( ohh thats not supposed to be a pun *lol*) through costs to make a profit is near impossible.

I would really like to get my sewing machine going .. my grandmother even offered her old machine which was in her home when the huricane hit and still runs and works great. I want to relearn how to sew and do something. I also have scrapbooking stuff and have worked on that some and have some singlets that are ready. Then i look on Ebay and i feel bad because mine are no where near as good as theirs.

I have so many crafts that i would love to learn how to do and play with .. i guess i am one of those jack of all trades type people.

I just want something more then some ploy to buy this package for $39.95 and earn $1500 in your first month *rme* or selling make-up or tupperware or some other product that someone else made. I am and i will say it again and i again not a salesperson and i don't like throwing parties to sell a product. Bad me i want something thats different and catches people and they go WOW thats EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR !!

I know my biggest passions crafts, baking, and animals. I want to meld them into a business!

Geeze i feel like i am complaining.

What about a pet boutique online? Just an idea- sell home baked pet treats, sew pet beds, decorative leashes- take custom orders and stuff after you get going? Sell on EBay too! Just some ideas for you!

THAT EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING OFF !!!

I have thought of this for years infact.. wanting to open a set store which would sell homemade animal treats, foods and other things to pamper your pet. However figuring out how to ship animal treats might take a while so i was figuring to start out simple and maybe toward the fabric and sewing end of it and then work my way up to more detailed food preps. Once i get them mastered that is.

I really hate it when treats are just treats and have no nutritional value to them.. I make Sampson all sorts of treats and they are more nutricious then the ones from the store. Of course for public consumption they need to look better then what i make them look at home *LOL* and last better on the shelf .. or maybe its just because Sampson wolfs them down so i never have time to test that theory *LOL*

Ohhh i am soooooo excited.. now i need to get my ideas into order and work on them a little bit. As my mother always tells me find out how much you have to pay to make the product, then how much time takes, and then how much someone would be willing to pay for it ... then see if it will make a profit. And never for get to see who your market is and if they would be interested. My mother is a school teacher and she thinks most of my ideas are half baked. * sighs*

You could probably make the treats look really cute later by getting some molds. Another cute idea would be to make a basket tied with a collar! Just another idea. If you can pull off a "upscale" look you might be able to charge more? Heavy on the pampered bit LOL! You could post some info sheets at pet stores too. But there are plaenty of people who spoil their pet and think of them as their children so I bet you'd be able to get an audience somehow!

Do you have a farmer's market where you can introduce your products to locals? People that are taking their pets to a farmer's mkt are generally hard core pet lovers anyway so it could be a perfect market.

Farmer's mkts are nice because you generally don't have to worry about permits and such.

Just something to subsidize your web boutique.

I am pretty good at getting simple items together to look nice.. i had thought gift boxes ..

I will have to look into molds .. or watch for old vintage cookie presses at flea markets, yard sales and what not. My grandmother has an old butter press thats amazing!

Katie~ i will have to ask my fiance's father about farmers markets in the area.. i don't know the area well where we are moving.. but it is more country WAY more country. I love it it means more access to Natural ingredients.

Although living close to my fiance's father will be great because they have Tons of dogs so i will have test subjects and different size puppy posers *lol*. They have a teeny white poodle type dog which when she is clipped and washed is GORGIOUS and such a DIVA. They have a Chocolate Lab which is a doll and a hansome man. They have a Black mix which has BAD skin allergies( fleas supposedly .. but it looks like mange !! ), which hopefully when i move closer i can help them deal with it so the poor little girl gets her hair back on her rump. And i have Sampson which is a Big Perky Boy. .. so i will have lots of test subjects and different size dogs .. of course i always ask before i feed anything to other peoples dogs even treats. I know i would not want some one to give Sampson that i did not know what it was, but if they asked and told me what it was i would be okay with it.

Sampson and Brackston, AKA Train Wreck, have yet to meet but i think they will be best of friends and romp and hopefully wear each other OUT .. *lol* I am planning to test some ideas i have been having on those 2.

Anyways i am proccessing ideas in my mind and once i am completely moved and settled in i will start working on my ideas and testing them out. I love having something else to think about other then stressing about moving ALL THE TIME.

I tried to post a reply last night but the board took so long to get me to the reply page I just went to bed. then I woke up this morning thinking about you !
step 1. go to all the pet shops within an hour of your house, see if they carry any type of homemade dog biscuits, note prices
step 2. go home, make dog biscuits,
step 3. go back to pet shops, flog biscuits

Don't talk yourself out of it with ....how much is the flour.....what if they won't buy them......Just do it.

I don't know you but just from your earlier posts you seem good at second guessing yourself. Don't listen to your little voice. What do you got to lose-2 days of shleppin' and $20 bucks in flour

good luck, (sorry if I seem to forward, but you seem to really like dogs and I think it's a really, really good idea.)

anni~ Thank you .. i do second guess my self a lot .. it was one of my biggest mistakes in school when taking tests ( every time i second guessed i ALWAYS had it right the first time )

I know that there is one type of homemade biscuit around .. i have only seen one so far .. it's a plain biscuit .. i even tried one with Sampson and he wasn't super excited .. I think he gets more excited about when i make my own bicuits .. i think it's all the waiting just like kids and hot cookies *LOL*.. Hmmmmmmmmmmm i think i have a good idea now .. * nods * biscuit mixes could be something great as well .. all the nutricious ingredients in a jar and then all they have to do is mix( with the wet ingredients ) then they don't have to get all the ingredients and worry about if it's good for their dog.. not to mention that it would cost a lot to get all the good ingredients just to make one little batch of biscuits.

Thank you for pushing me sometimes i need that ... i think i also need to remember to always go with my first answer and not erase and to second guess myself.
