Everything we own (except a Blue Moon baby diaper) is getting too small. It looks like we will be in diapers for at least another 6m or so (I am not going to push trainign right before the baby comes), so I need diapers that will actually fit. I am especially interested in side snap pull on trainers. I know I could make them, but having never made a diaper before, i am a little intimidated, especially because I am going to have to size up a pattern. I need a couple heavy duty diapers for nighttime, and then something that will catch a pee. He tends to hold his pee for 3-4 hrs at a time, so we are really starting to end up with leaks as well.

Thanks for any advice!

For diapers, you could contact sam/shanka/www.natural-instincts.com

Her site says she makes diapers for Special Needs kids. Liam isn't Special Needs, but 50 pounds???? Whew!

For trainers I've heard good things about these but no personal experience:
http://www.snap-ez.com/CottonTrainers.html
(come in regular and AIO)

Also, Country Cozys sells the pattern for their Knit Knickers. Or did sell the pattern. The site closed down a year or two ago, and I can't remember the mama here (and at md) that owned it. :o Anyhow, the pattern is worthwhile if you can find it.

I DON'T recommend Happy Heinys pocket trainers. They're made fine and have great fabrics and fit bigger kids, but a PITB to put the stuffing in!

I can make you some diapers. My larges go from about 20-35 but if you give me measurements to work with I can do it.

My diapers are a really trim fit, and I generally use mostly hemp. My XL's would be $15 apiece. I have cool prints too....

here's a link to an auction with my Monkey Pants on there, and my site is www.tristanasthings.com (under construction).

Thank you for the referral Wendy! I appreciate it very much. YES, I make diapers for the bigger sizes. I do the Knappie Snap AIO in either windpro or PUL in a size for 45-55 pounds. Actually, I am doing a lot of work with the special needs line right now. There are many kids who are not special needs who just need a specail size. I designed this line of diapers for my daughter who is almost 8 and not potty trained. The AIO Knappie Snap diapers go from infant to special need adult sizes.

are you only looking for new? If not - I have a couple of Toddling tots side-snapping trainers in size 5T that I got for Michael that might fit him. However - I found they really need a doubler for absorbancy - Michael was also a heavy wetter. I just used a trifolded prefold. I'll be happy to pass them on to you if you pm me your address. They are too big for Maddy and I doubt my twins will ever need that size. There is some staining though and fraying around the elastics. But no actual holes.
