I made this out of some encore I picked up supa-cheap on sale at my lys. It is for my sil who likes "bright colors and blue" . I think this fits the bill. It isn't really a christmas present. She mentioned it in passing over thanksgiving and I just got inspired to surprise her. :) I hope she likes it. My 12 yo dd likes it - so my sil, who is a 7th grade teacher should get approval from her students at least! :p
I used this super simple wave pattern to spice things up a bit. I think it works well with the variagated - which admitedly is not usually my favorite kind of yarn....

ooooh very pretty! I dig the wavy style of it!
I think it looks beautiful! I am sure your SIL will treasure this scarf. :)

Very pretty indeed. I like the pattern a lot. Was it hard to make?

Ah, old shale/feather and fan. My very first (and still most favorite) lace pattern. It's so pretty, and SO easy to do!
I love the scarf!!

Yes, it was **very** easy. You can't see it well in the picture but there is a nice texture to it with a ridge that follows the wave. It is really nice.
And so so so so easy! Seriously. I worked on it late at night as a way to put myself to sleep so it was complete no brainer time. ;)

:jump: Easy huh? Well this sounds very exciting to me as a beginner. I have the perfect yarn for this pattern. The only thing is where should I look for the pattern? Did you make it up or can I buy it?

Wow
That is sooo cool. I only know the garter stitch, so what you made looks so complicated..

Okay - Here is the link for the pattern.
The one I used is the second one. "Nana's 91st Birthday Scarf". I used a bulkier yarn and bigger needles for the one I made (encore super chunky on size 10 needles). I did the 40 stiches like it tell to and it was apprx. 10 inches wide. For the stripe I did 4 repeats of each alternately.
