I have a hp photosmart 635... It takes pics just fine, the minute I connect it to the computer to upload it freezes. I can't upload pics. I uninstalled drivers and then reinstalled drivers but it still is messing up.

Anyone know what the problem could be?

i had the same problems with my HP photosmart. I ditched trying to upload that way and per a friends recommendation i bought a SanDisk card reader. It was $20 at best buy and I still use it with my canon now. You just pop out your compact flash card, and put it in this drive that connects to the computer via usb and use it as a removeable hard drive. Its fast and so much faster then uploading to the hard drive from the camera.

its really nice cuz i can upload anyones pics if they have a compact flash card

hope this helps. I had replacement cables from HP too but i still had problems locking up and finally did the sandisk and it was awesome
