I was just there this evening for a nature lecture on Mountain Lions here in Orange County and the staff is so helpful and friendly. They have a website Acorn Naturalists (http://www.acornnaturalists.com) and I love to look over their print catalog. Lots of fun environmental science goodies.

I didnt realize they were local! The charter we are with has them as a vendor & we order some things from them - the kids cant wait to use the kits we got from them!

Are you in San Diego? You should try to visit the store sometime...it is like paradise! I was so thrilled to be in there last night, like a kid in a candy store. Of course I had to restrain myself because I need to purchase stuff with our educational funds from our charter school. It was fun to look though :) They have a natural history lecture series on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, I'm going to pencil it onto my calendar so I can start going regularly.

There have been some great stuff offered in that series. I keep meaning to make it ... one day.

They had a neat anniversary party last year. I won a dino kit in a drawing and they were handing out free 10 dollar off coupons. I picked up some great finds that day. It's a neat store, I love supporting it when I can!
