View Full Version : Ideas for the different stories in Light in the Lantern?
Some of the stories make it very easy to decide what to add to the nature table/display... for others I'm more at a loss.
Help?

I have not read Light In The Lantern, but if you are looking for lantern type crafts I have some great ideas. Is that the sort of thing?
Katie,
It's an Advent story book - it has a story for each day of advent and some element of the story very easily becomes an addition to your nature table (not necessay, of course, but the story seems to lend itself well to that purpose).
For example, in the first story (working from memory from last year...) Mary is walking to Bethelem and the stones are rocky on the path, but she doesn't complain. An angel comes down and turns all the sharp rocks into smooth pebbles of many colors. So, I would lay out a path of colored smooth stones as that first element of my table (of course, I need to get making the people for the table too).
I like lanterns :) We made one last year in a Rutabega that was neat, and I've done a couple made from watercolor paper and cutouts lined with tissue paper.

I just started reading through it and haven't come up with too many ideas. I think I'm going to go to Black Market Minerals (in AZ Mills) and get some really cool polished rocks and an unbroken geode to use for "the rock's secret." I need to get to work on the people as well. At this rate, we'll be using the Little People nativity set:p

oooo! We might need one too! Perhaps we can convince you to get one for us? *blink blink*

I think I can manage that;) I loooove BMM. It's such a cool store. I'll probably go next week so I'd have it for you by playgroup.
