What happened to all the threads in this section? Anyway, I'd like to see examples of folks who use Wahmshoppes. And then I might even have a few questions. ;) Thanks!!

You can ask Michelle of Doves Designs she does a lot of work for mamas who host on wahmshoppes it is pretty easy to use and if you know anything about html etc... great because you can make it all the better.

I used to be on wahmshoppes, but Tony is rude and unable to deal with all his clients. I had to ask for 2 weeks about getting my stat information and once he finally replied to me he had very snide remarks to make about how he has a *life* etc. Ummmm, and so do I? Like I'm paying you to do absolutely nothing?
I have yet to have my account updated, I paid him every single month and it just keeps accumulating. I emailed him asking about it and how I wasn't going to pay anymore until I knew my account was in good standing and he replied again VERY rudely about how he is too busy to update all the accounts and he has record that I paid and I would be stupid to not pay him (yes, he did tell me that!).
If you think you might need any help in setting up your website, I would not use wahmshoppes. If you have good knowledge, then it is a good price for what you get. I just moved from wahmshoppes to waterswebshops and her shop package is similar, but it is also search engine friendly. With wahmshoppes, search engines do not pick up the actual shop content because it is in frames (there is a frameless version, but I couldn't get him to help me figure out how to use it).
HTH, just wanted to give a voice of dissent.

I know Tony IRL and he is a good guy. He just gets a little busy sometimes because he runs WahmShoppes in addition to his full time job...and he's also had some health problems. I imagine it would be difficult being just one person running the whole show who all, understandably, want their questions and concerns answered immediately.
Glad you found something that suits your needs though. :)

Well, for the SECOND time, I found out that, no matter how I try (and no matter how patient Michelle is about answering my questions), I just can't seem to figure out WahmShoppes. Sooo.... I switched back over to Yahoo, which is substantially more expensive, but my old store was a Yahoo store, so I understand it. To me, the extra cost is worth having a shopping cart that I like and know, etc. etc.
Difference is -- last time, I used the Yahoo templates. This time I've built the site on DreamWeaver and will upload to Yahoo when the catalog is ready, hopefully in about 2-3 weeks.
Another thing I like about Yahoo is the built-in traffic.
Tony was pretty nice when I cancelled my subscription. Told me, "Good luck, kid." Ha! I wish I was a kid!!!! Or maybe it was a Bogey kinda of thing. :p

I use Tony also. He finally got his billing straightened out...thank goodness. I think it is very frustrating dealing with him, but when I have a question, I post on the forum and someone there is able to help.
I'm using the frameless mode.

I have a wahmshoppes account: stinkbugdesigns.com
and a watersweb account: stinkbugdiy.com
wahmshoppes I have had for a couple of years (maybe 3?) after I got the hang of it I really like how it all works. Sometimes things do take a while but sometimes customers have to be patient with me too so I just sit back and know that it will get done. I've had a couple of people tell me that wahmshoppes take longer to load but I haven't had that experience.
watersweb: the owner is sweet sweet sweet! It appears to be a LOT more difficult for me to use and I've spent hours and hours just trying to do one thing and even after it's been explained I still don't get it. So maybe once I get the 'feel' of the place it will work for me...
so anyway, that was my twenty five cents. If you ever decide to go back to wahmshoppes there is a great support system and I'd be glad to help you with it anytime
