I was just wondering if any of you had a room/partial room, devoted specifically to homeschooling?
I really planned in the beginning to avoid a classic, "school" approach, lol...BUT, I have to have a room to corrall all this stuff we are collecting as a result of homeschool LOL.
Now, it's a small room, but I plan to just put a small table in there with chairs, I also got a big giant marker board, and a bulletin board for instructing and hanging work, etc. I want to get a globe too, and some maps/posters to hang.
So, does anyone else have a set up like this, AND better yet...lol...does anyone have pics of their "school room"?

we dont right now since we live in a tiny home, but when we move we plan to have a seperate school room. The home we plan to buy has both a 2 car garage & 1 car garage. I plan to convert the 1 car garage off of the laundry room into a waldorf-inspired school room. Right now we have all our homeschool stuff including our classroom sized chalkboard in our living room - I'd love to have a place for that , our shelves of homeschool books, maps, a long table,etc,etc.... just a nice cozy space. it will be right off the laundry, so access to a sink & it also has a door leading out to the garden. I am really, really looking forward to it! We also plan to put our sewing machines & supplies in that room.
Our finished basement is our playroom and my sewing space; it's also one of the main homeschooling areas. We're unschoolers, though, so you won't find a desk and workbooks all lined up here. We do have a small chalkboard on the wall. :)

As some of our children got into the upper grades, we finally had the need for a "quiet room". Mind you, we have the 9 of us in a 3 bedroom home, so this was a sacrifice, but we're all happy with this. Just a bedroom with no inhabitants - the computer is in there, books, and my sewing stuff.
Nice to have somewhere to go and shut the door for quiet study.

LOL! sounds like us...we have 4 of us, two bedrooms, and we just turned ONE INTO A "CLASSROOM"????? ROFL...My son will not sleep in his own room, not for the life of him...he never plays in there, because he is always where ever the rest of the family is, sooooo, the room was UNUSED...so, we took both of their toddler beds, put them on opposite sides of the FAR SIDE of my bedroom, made them each their own space, lol...and that's us, happy as clams, all in one bedroom ===:-O

We have one. It was DD's bedroom until we remodeled and added on to the house. It is small, about 11ftx12ft. We have one wall painted with chalkboard paint. The closet has shelves in it for most of our supplies. DD and I each have a desk. I also have book shelves, a filing cabinet where we keep all our records, papers etc, and a 2ft by 4 ft table (for projects, board games etc.)
A lot of our "schooling" takes place on the couch, but it is nice to have a classroom with a desk for some of her work, or to separate her when the house hold becomes a distraction.

We have a huge family/play/school room. It's really long, so at one end I have a 25 cubbie Ikea shelf with all our school books, my fabric, craft stuff and toys. We have a long conference table with 4 chairs, maps on the walls, pictures on the walls etc.. At the other end of the rooms there's a copuch and entertainment center. It works well for us. I may have some pics, I'll have to scrounge around...

I have a dedicated School Area. We have so many books and supplies, it was just easier to put it all in one place. I have it set up in our unused formal dining area. We usually Do our math, handwriting, crafts and anything else that requires a table in this area. Otherwise we migrate to the couch or floor for almost everything else. I took some pics for you:

in one large space so we use a table and a tall skinny6 drawer rolling cart (K-Mart) to keep the stuff in. My youngest (17mos) won't let the older two alone when they are writing so we need a dedicated table. Otherwise school is wherever you find yourself to be!
