We just had a Whole Foods Market open here in Vancouver. It's the same as the ones you have in the US, but it's the first Western Canadian one. I'll be going out there some time in the next few days. Can you tell me a bit about the store? Are there any fantastic products that I should get? Things that sound great but aren't, really?
Looking forward to exploring a new store. :)
Thanks,

They make a lovely Country Seed Bread and my girls *RAVE* over anything in the pastry case. :joker:
We have one being built here and should be ready in the Spring hopefully. They have been at it for almost a year. I am aching for it to open, but sad at the same time because I like the owner of our local HFS and I am sure the WFM is not going to help her business any.

We do 90% of our shopping at WFM. There aren't really that many choices around here. :)

I love the deli! I always leave alittle extra money in the budget to get a special treat at the deli.

The organic selection around here actually seems to be pretty good. There are 2 local health food stores quite close to me, and our regular grocery storess also carry a selection of organics.
The Whole Foods Market is actually more than an hour away, over 2 majorly busy bridges, but I thought I'd go and check it out, although I doubt that it will be a place I'm able to go to regularly.

Their meats and produce are fantastic. We used to go every Sunday for our food shopping and then stay for lunch. *sniff*
Then we moved.

I think Capers is cheaper Sabina, at least they have good sales.
I love the deli at Whole Foods though. My mom loves that they have dairy and wheat free desserts ;) She has food allergies.

Yeah, Capers is cheaper than our local hf stores, too, but since it takes me an hour or so to get out there, it almost ends up evening out, price-wise.
Thanks for all the input, everybody.

I tend to like the 365 house brand foods. Whole Foods is pretty unapologetically high priced, so some of the stuff ( alot) is out of our budget.

walk up and down the aisles and check everything out.
You will see things to try and things which are interesting and you will get what fits your family's eating style.
There are so many ways to go shopping wise when you are there!
We get a lot of stuff at Whole Foods. We were there today and I treated myself to some avocado rolls. Their sushi ;cool: !!

As far as prices go, their Organic Rice Milk at $1.19 a quart can't be beat.... We get some things bulk their - (bins that you scoop out of into bags) - such as organic oats, organic whole wheat flour, organic couscous, yogurt covered pretzals:), organic rice, ....
We do buy organic milk - it is $4.99 a gallon here. There 365 brand vanilla ice cream is the children's nightly treat.
Enjoy!
Warm wishes,
