One of the kids left a purple crayon in the laundry and I didn't find it until it was too late...when I was getting the clothes out of the dryer!
Is there ANYTHING I can rewash them in to get it out? It's purple crayon, not sure if it's washable or not, if that makes a difference. DH is steamed and being a rear so I'm going to let him do laundry from now on since he said he might as well (HA! he has no clue what he just asked for!) This is the second time I've done this in 8 years so apparently I'm a horrible person for doing it even once.

LMK if that works. We had a green crayon go through with our whites and it speckle green colored a little white cotton (with hand embroidered flowers) dress that I had saved from the girls. :( I hope you can get it out!

I ruined a bunch of clothes this past summer cuz of an orange crayon in the drier. It was a HUGE MESS. I ended up using WD 40, which the crayola site suggested- but then I couldn't get THAT smell out. plus, the crayon was so bad, that even after 2hours of scrubbing there was still tons left on the clothes. So... we ended up getting it out of some of the clothes... But those ended up STINKING to all heck- so I had to soak them and soak them and air them in the wind to get that stink out.
My suggestion- DON'T use WD40 unless you are willing to smell greasy for a few weeks.

Don't feel bad. I did the same thing just a couple of weeks ago. All of my dh's whites were ruined with green and red crayons. His clothes looked like they were decorated for Christmas.

I was going to suggest GOO GONE too. You can usually get it at JoAnn's or Walmart. I did it last winter with a red crayon all over the dryer and the clothes, DH investigated and cleaned up the mess (I was terribly ill with pregnancy) and he used Goo Gone.
Good luck!

Thank you!!! I guess I'd better make sure to clean out the dryer no matter what.
Will ask my dad to bring over his Goo Gone! :)

I would use goop, not goo gone. Goo gone is not water soluable, so you need to scrub it out yourself. If you rub goop all over it, then wash, that should work.
Goo gone will work well on the dryer though.
When I did this, the dryer wasn't hard to clean out. I don't remember what I used, but it was no problem, unlike the clothes (I didn't know about goop then).
