I had the cable disconnected, so I connected rabbit ears to the TV, added foil to them at my mom's suggestion, and still I can only get one station. What could be wrong? When I used rabbit ears at the house prior to this one we could get all the network channels. Do you think the location of the TV could be a factor? Or maybe even the location of the home? I wanna weight all the possibilities before I go rearranging furniture, but tomorrow is SUrvivor night, so I don't have much time.:joker:

The best thing ever is a "safety pin" ! Believe it or not! Stick it into the back of the tv, where you would normally attach the cable hook up, right in that little hole. (make sure it is a medium size one that fits snugly. Then you can attach speaker wire or something similar to it and spread it out for better reception.
It REALLY works, give it a try :D
I stopped buying cable 7 years ago :)

location in the house can be a factor - we get 4 channels in the living room. When the TV was in the bedroom when I was on bedrest - we only got 2 channels.

Our cable company here (Time Warner) can hook up service for antenna only. It's not advertised but it's a service they are required to provide. You may want to give that a try!

We just have a cable sticking out of the hole the cable would go in and it is about 6 feet or so - we just play with it, etc.. it works well enough for me:)
My husband will try some pretty funny moves to make it work for a sports game even holding it with his toes if he has to:)

I can get a pretty clear picture w/powered rabbit ears. They were about $25-30 at Radio Shack.

Do you have a roof antenna? We can barely get anything with just rabbit ears, but with a roof antenna, we can get four channels crystal clear.

We have satellite "cable" so we have to use an antenna for local stations. We bought a $30 amplified antenna from Best Buy. It is wayyyy better than rabbit ears. here's one like ours (but ours is 5 years old, lol) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051384442124&productCategoryId=cat08081&type=product

We have to use an antenna with our DirecTV. I bought a roof antenna at Radio Shack for about $25 - works great! It took the spouse about 10 minutes to put it up there, and the reception instantly improved.

Location of your house is a big factor.
The first house we had, we couldn't get any channels. We lived in a valley so I guess that was the problem.
The next house (same TV) we got several channels clearly, and we then put an antenna on top of the house and they became crystal clear. (Not worth the time or money of the house antenna since they were clear enough before.)
Our other house we could get several channels fairly clearly.
Our current house...we can get several channels clear...some are not so clear but we play with the rabbit ears. I now have a set of powered rabbit ears from Lowes on a different TV and haven't noticed they work any better. Also, the TV in the other room doesn't pick up as many as the TV in the livingroom. We switched to satelite because I wanted the cooking channel. LOL
