I LOVE spinach & artichoke dip. We went to a restaurant here last night, John Harvard's, and they have THE BEST spinach & artichoke dip. I got my SO to try it and he actually likes it. He's not a fan of spinach and he's never really wanted to try artichokes. I love spinach boiled with nothing on it no butter no salt Nothing! I love marinated artichoke hearts. So if anyone has a good recipe for spinach & artichoke dip they'd like to share that would be greatly appreciated. I prefer it to not be spicy. The one we had last night had a creamy sauce almost tasted cheesy. Thanks! :D

here's one I found online: http://www.copykat.com/asp/copykatrecipe.asp?recipe=262
I've had it at Olive Garden before and it's not spicy at all. Have fun :)

Thank you! Do you think I can substitute or keep the mayo out? :)

I have one I can look up and type in. I make it for the holidays every year--it's so good and it is cheesy a bit. Do you eat crab? LOL If you like hot dips and eat crab, I have an amazing hot crab dip recipe too!

Okay, well, noticing my artichoke one has a LOT of mayo! LOL! It's really good though--I don't taste the mayo in it. These are both 50's/60's classics from Betty Crocker's Holiday Appetizers, Dec. 1999. Blast from the Past chapter.
Creamy Spinach Artichoke Dip
1c mayo or salad dressing (we use light)
1c freshly grated parmesan (yum!)
1 can (14 oz) artichoke heaert quarters, drained and coarsely chopped
1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach (thawed, squeezed and drained)
1/2c chopped red bell pepper (nice for color but I've left it out if I couldn't get them)
1/4c shredded Jack or Mozzarella (I use a little more)
1. Heat oven to 350. Mix mayo and parm. Stir in hearts, spinach and bell pepper.
2. Spoon into 1qt casserole or baking dish. Sprinkle with Jack.
3. Cover and bake 15-20 mins or until bubbly and cheese is melted.
Enjoy!
Here's the carb one...love it so much! Even people who aren't crab fanatics like me like it too.
Hot Crab Dip
1 8oz pack cream cheese (softened)
1/4c grated parmesan (in this one I like to use Kraft grated rather than fresh)
4 med. green onions, thinly sliced (1/4c)
1/4 mayo or salad dressing
1/4 dry white wine or apple juice (I use white zin. cause that's what I have on hand usually)
2 tsp. sugar
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 6oz can white crabmeat, rinsed, flaked and drained
1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted (bake uncovered for 10 minutes on 350)
1. Heat oven to 375. Mix all ingred. except crabmeat and almonds utnil well-blended. Stir in crab.
2. Spread into ungreased pie plate or shallow 1 qt cassserole. Sprinkle with almonds.
3. Bake uncovered 15-20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
Yum!
