Sorry I didn't get this on earlier today my computer has been giving me such problems *UGH*! Okay are you all ready to strat this? I can't wait to see all of your progress! Today we will start with the Kitchen. Now I said I was going to do one day at a time but a few mamas have said that they work and need it stretched out a bit longer, SOOOO I am going to make it a 3 day a room process, so we can have more moms join us!! I guess since it so late today it technically starts tomorrow! And if you have to catch up and post a picture after the three days just make sure it is in the correct thread for that room. Mamas who have less rooms will be finished quicker but hang in there for mamas with bigger houses!!

I want to see before and after pictures posted right here on this thread of all the parts of your kitchen (YES inside those cabinets)

And don't be afraid to get rid of the stuff you don't use or need (someone less fortunante could probably really use it).

*** modified *** sorry I didn't add this list yesterday, with my comp. on the fritz I have to work fast (I never know when it will freeze up) and I did not go back and check my original post to make sure I included everything... Here is your detailed list:

~ clean out fridge
~ take out garbage and wash inside can then spray with lysol or a scent that you like (spray with scent whenever trash goes out)
~ dust tops of things, cabs if they aren't to the ceiling and fridge and any appliances you have on counter
~clean out microwave
~wipe down all appliances
~clean oven
~wash counter tops
~dust light fixtures, ceiling fan if you have one
~dishes all the way to put away
~dishwasher- run empty with vinegar
~wipe down cabinets
~dust baseboards
~clean out and wipe out inside cabinets, and drawers
~sweep and mop

*I find that a little dishsoap and water works the best for most of these jobs.


P.S. I have a great surprise for the winner!!!

oh, i just did my cabs abt 2 weks ago too, and cleaned out the freezer this am, so i am a little bit ahead-- the tupperware cab of course needs fixing, as does the tea and coffee, but other than that I think we are good in the kitchen??

I am still in the game but dh took the camera today so I am going to have to take a belated "before" picture. Luckily my cabinets aren't cluttered yet, it's the rest of it that's a mess.

I am awaiting this promise, "On the first day of the game and only that day I will list a detailed list of some of the things that should be done in each room so you can also have a dust free home and you can incorporate it into each day. " LOL Hopefully your computer is cooperating!

I started late so I had to play catch-up. I finished everything on the list that applied. Here are my honest before pictures. We just put in a sink so there is a tiny bit of clutter. The kitchen *so* needs updating. Oh, and cleaning out the cabinets, that was a chore. Not that I have much junk, but it was just a lot of work. I feel like an OC person lives in my house, all the cans are facing the same direction (take my word for it.)

I am handicapping myself here because I do not use typical *oven cleaner*, I use Kaboom and baking soda and that is it. I finally gave up because this oven was consuming my time and thoughts. :D

Pantry was indeed a mess. Some of the stuff has to stay. I have a number of boxes on the floor and it is some of my great-grandmother's china that I am holding for my mother in CA, until she comes out to visit. It cannot be stored in the garage/attic because of its age and how hot it is here, so the best place for it, is the pantry and we are already short on space.

that mountain of s*** is an antique table that works as a phone center. I hate it there. the correct name should NOT be phone center but CLUTTER COLLECTOR! I think it is stupid to have it there anyway because I always haul the phone into my living so I can sit down and talk.

Get a cordless! :p That should solve the clutter problem. (as if I am one to talk..anyway LOL) You could mount it on the wall, store the phone books in the drawer and freecycle the table or move it to another location.

As for me.. I want to play but won't be able to start until at least wednesday. I will have to be a bit behind.

well, i am back on-- i DID get the fridge cleaned out, lol. it is actually cleaner than it has ever been I think (and emptier too). I have been making a list of the things we lost for ins purposes, and it is SEVEN typed double spaced pages :eek: Liam is sick now, and I still have a little cold on top of the morning sickness, so I may or may not be able to play this go around, but I am still going to try
