Anyone have any advice or comments about thrush? I've researched the heck out of it online, but would love to hear some personal stories.

we used gentian violet
My moms a pediatrician and she gave me the option of days of meds or one gention violet application
after one application it was gone, my son did gag a little on the taste. we covered the bed with my mamasalena violet cloth (made into a changing pad by Jami) The staining blends perfectly. He only had purple on his mouth for a little under 48 hours. I did learn the hard way to wear a dark shirt as we painted my nipples and they were stained and showed right through my bra and white T shirt
Worked great, little effort!

I did that, although I had a devil of a time finding the stuff! However, the white spots are still there on her gums, 48 hours later. How long did it take for the spots to disappear for you?

for us it was pretty much instant. I am sinsitive to yeast though, when I feel the first tingle either nipple or otherwise I am wanting to get it fixed.
We did the treatment and went to sleep and by morning no more tingles and the visual was gone in my sons mouth.
Remember milk mouth and thrush can look the same. Our lactation consiltation at the hospital sent us to the doctor to be treated for thrush when my son was only a few days old. It was only milk mouth though.

exactly what she said... if you wipe baby's gums with a soft washcloth, does the white come off?
