Hoping one of you mama's can help. We were outside playing hide n go seek with the kids and our dd hid under dh's tractor trailer and now has black grease in her blonde hair. Any suggestions on how to get it out?

My mom used to use Goop! hand cleaner on laundry as well as hands. It may work on hair also. . .

goop works on hair! I am not going to relive my nightmare experience but trust me it works! ;)

if you don't have goop maybe try dishwashing stuff?

Shoot! We have Goop Off which is a liquid base. Is that the same thing. I am hesitant to put this stuff on her hair. We have tried dishwashing detergent and few other things. The majority of it is out but you can still see this dark patch. I just finished putting a good conditioner on her hair and will work at trying to remove the rest tomorrow. At least she will not stain her sheets/clothing. Poor kid. Looks like a skunk.

Hmmm....I will have to call around town tomorrow to see if anyone has some Goop that I can borrow.

Dishsoap! Rub it in while the hair is DRY, then wash as normal. Soap or shampoo will emulsify the oil, but not if it's already wet.

As my last resort...

My DH when he was a machanic used landry soap on his hair. He would use about a T of powder with the shampoo. It worked but he siad it was like washing your hair with sand paper.

You can mix a thick paste of your normal shampoo (or liquid dish detergent, if its bad) mixed with baking soda. You will def. want to rub it in, leave for 5 minutes and rinse. Make sure you conditioner her hair afterwards, as it is a clarifing mixture.

That should do it, If its grease, I would probably use the dish detergent/baking soda.
