Lauren, did you go with somekind of broadband phone service? I think it was you that mentioned it at one time? We have phone service with swb and it includes local & unlimited ld and pay about $68 a month including fees and taxes etc. This would be forty dollars cheaper for six months, and still 25 cheaper after that. It's really tempting, I'm going to talk to dh about it tonight. Besides the $$ fact, our phone lines are not great and we've had all kinds of trouble with them. I have a cell phone also so we have back up.... Anyone with any info?
thanks,
Anne

Edited to add I just noticed that Canada is included in the unlimited us rate! Dh has a sister that lives there :) And their international rates are good also. (he has another sister in Australia) hmmm more tempted!

We went with www.unlimitedvoice.com.

I have heard that AT&T CallVantage has the best call quality and the least issue with downloading stuff from the Net while on the phone. We got a Motorola wireless router and haven't had problems with that since we switched to that, but before we were having a few issues with call quality if we were also downloading something big off the Internet. Not sure if it was the router or just tweaking settings that made the difference.

Our deal was first month free and $29.99 after that. AT&T's deal was not as good when I looked! It looks like a better deal now.

Earthlink Unlimited Voice goes through Vonage; they are a reseller/middleman, but the price is the same.

Anyway we have been VERY happy with it, and our total bill including taxes is only $32.29!!! Then we also got Earthlink cable modem for $29.95/mo for 6 mo and 41.95/mo after that.

We will be porting over our land line phone number and cancelling the land line very soon. I also have a cheap cell phone plan for backup.
